Girl Crush of the Week: Hilary Duff.

I've wanted to be this week's Girl Crush since I was a little kid, which is kind of funny since we are basically the same age. I've watched her grow up in the Disney kids show Lizzie McGuire and I've followed (and owned) many of her movies over the years. A Cinderella Story, Raise Your Voice, Cheaper by the Dozen, The Perfect Man, Material Girls, War Inc- just to name a few. I also followed her musical career, yes even spending my hard earned pennies buying her albums. She's currently swooning (not so) Lonely Boy on Gossip Girl and she's on the cover of the November issue of People StyleWatch. This week's Girl Crush is the original Tween Queen, Hilary Duff.

I'm not kidding when I say I adore this girl, to this day I will still watch the Lizzie McGuire movie, I blame the kids I used to babysit who got me hooked on it. I used to sing along to her songs, I even wanted the Lizzie haircut (heavy bangs and all). She caused some eyebrows to raise when at 17 she began dating 26 year old Good Charlotte lead singer, Joel Madden. The little Disney, innocent blonde began growing up. She and Joel dated for several years before calling it quits in 2006. Now she's dating Edmonton Oilers forward Mike Comrie (a step up from a rockstar, in my opinion). As I mentioned during my last Girl Crush entry, Hilary is best friends with Leah Miller and the two share a small tattoo that reads ma petite amie.
