- L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara - I've tried dozens of different mascaras and this has been the one I've always gone running back to. It's actually the mascara my Mom used to use (before she switched to Cover Girl Professional) and I used to steal her almost empty tubes. I think it's a combination of the brush and the formula, it leaves my lashes well... voluminous. It rarely clumps and it rarely disappears during the day. It's not crazy expensive (around $8 CDN) and it's far better than any expensive mascara out there. Blackest Black is my colour of choice.

Smashbox Brow Tech - I don't have eyebrows. Well- I mean I do but they are so light they are almost invisible. This little baby solves that problem. One side of the pot is an eyeshadow for your brows and the other is a little pot of wax. It's incredibly easy to use if you too have naturally light brows. A couple of tips would be to use with an angled brush (which you can pick up where ever Smashbox is sold) and to also use a very little amount. One of these can last me anywhere from 5-6 months- and I use it every day. Once you have 'drawn' on your eyebrows just tap your finger into the wax and light wipe over your brow to seal the powder and to help keep your brows in shape.

L'Oreal Vive Pro Shampoo and Conditioner - I wash my hair every day (yes I know this isn't the best thing in the world to do but I hate having greasy old hair). Again, I've tried dozens of different brands of shampoo and conditioner, never really buying the same one religiously- until I found this kind. I don't really believe that the different shampoos do different things and are meant for different kinds of hair so I just pick up whichever colour bottle I like at the time. Right now it's the ones above. My hair is crazy long and this stuff never leaves it tangled, it leaves it soft feeling and healthy looking. I put my hair through a lot (blow drying and straightening) and the conditioner really helps to erase all that.

- MAC Lipstick in Myth - I'm a huge fan of playing up my eyes, they are my favourite thing about me. I also hate my lip colour- it's too red for my liking and when I play up my lips it just looks strange. Before I found this little gem I used to get a concealer stick (darker than my actual skin colour so I wouldn't look freaky) along with a medium pink lipstick and that's how I got my nude lip. During one of my trips to MAC I decided to try something new and at almost 20 bucks a pop I was really hoping it would pay off. Oh it did. I've been using this lipstick colour for almost 2 years now and have gone through almost 6 tubes- thank goodness MAC has their recycling policy. I have strayed here and there but nothing works as nicely as this does.
Smith's Minted Rose Lip Balm - This is a brand new favourite. I've heard so much about this little multi-tasker (well the original Rosebud Salve anyways) that I had been dying to try it. Unfortunately not knowing where they sell it in Vancouver was a bit of a problem and I don't do internet shopping so that posed as another problem. I found it at Urban Outfitters by accident and I've fallen in love. This is the shit. It's not sticky or goopy and my hair doesn't get caught in it on windy days. It has a light rose scent (which I'm not huge on but I can deal) along with a slightly cool minty feeling. At $9 CDN for this large pot it was a great find.
If anyone in Vancouver knows of a place to pick up this kind or the original please, please, please drop me an email at tracyleeblog@gmail.com or leave a comment below or even send me a reply on twitter over at @tracyxlee .

Omg! Rosebud lipbalm has to be my favourite thing ever. It smells sooo good! Like strawberries and its not sticky. They sell it at Sephora! Well at least that's where I get mine.
Abd I use that mascara too! I love it, its the best.
Hahaha I love the no eyebrow thing cuz I totally get it and you flat out admit it:) I heart you!
I love the mascara and the smashbox eyebrow product, because like you, I have very light eyebrows and eyelashes. I was a swimmer in high school and I actually used the L'Oreal color vive shampoo and LOVED it! It's the best shampoo for a low price, a great combination!

I also love pale lips. I so wish I could find the perfect nude shade for me though. They are always either too brown, too pink, or too yellow. Damn my fair white skin! I find myself mixing about 3 different lipsticks to get the shade I like. You're so lucky to have found one that is perfect for you.
now i know your eyebrow secret..hahah.
hey hun! wow, great beauty tips! i use the smashbox eyebrow stuff every day because being a blonde, i clearly have no eyebrows, and always always always carry the rosebud salve with me. i use it for everything -- my lips, eyelids, cuticles -- you name it! blush.. the list goes on. hell, ive even used it to fix the occasional unruly eyebrow. i've been searching high and low for a good mascara (i have stick straight and short eyelashes, fuck my life lol). currently im using hypnose by lancome and it's total rubbish. im going to give your recommendation a try because you seem to swear by it, and you have good beauty advice otherwise!! if you ever get a chance you should check out the product "hoolah" by benefit. it's a bronzer but it's so natural looking and has no shimmer or anything in it so it really looks like you've just spent a day at the beach. i pair that with the cut classic Nars "orgasm" blush and i feel like a million bucks.
i've been hoping to try a pale lip but i feel since im so fair naturally it might make me look washed out. i generally go for very natural makeup so i'd love to try one, but i've always been a bit hesitant. i'm thinking i will give your mac recommendation a try!
best,
cb
