You all should have seen this one coming. Today's entry is a mixture of a concert review and my Girl Crush of the Week. There was a smokin' hot ticket in town last night (pun intended) and your's truly had one. Britney Jean Spears was born December 2nd 1981 in Kentwood, Louisiana. Stardom was always something she lusted after. At the age of 11 she won a spot on Disney's Mickey Mouse Club, which turned into a huge stepping stone for other young kids who eventually grew up to become household names. Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Ryan Gosling- just to name a few. When she was just 17 years old Britney Spears got her big break. In early 1999 "Baby One More Time" flooded the airwaves and she never looked back. She released album after album after album, touring all over the world and never taking a step out of the limelight. ...Baby One More Time, Oops! I Did It Again, Britney, In the Zone, Blackout and finally Circus- this gal's has them all.
You've probably all heard about the drama that happened last night, it's been everywhere. Perez, People, Vancouver Sun, The Province- even went as far as the UK. But what I think is that it was blown somewhat out of proportion. She didn't storm off the stage or walk away- it was in between songs and costumes. She probably didn't even know what was going on. Once gone she didn't return for 30 minutes- not 40 or more as some places have been reporting. At first we thought it might have just been part of the show but after 20 minutes or so a woman came over the speakers and that's when all hell, almost, broke loose. Check out the first video below. The stadium filled with the crowd booing, calling out bullshit, began chanting "Britney, Britney, Britney" and my favourite of the night "We want Britney" *clap clap clapclapclap*. Finally once things started back up one of my favourite parts of the night occured. On the giant circular video screens we started seeing some sexy stuff (Mom's with little kids must have been covering their eyes) and the amazing sound of Marilyn Manson's Sweet Dreams which then turned into Britney singing it. Check out the second video below for half of that (I was so enthralled I forgot to start recording it). My next favourite part of the night was when she did a Bollywood version of Me Against the Music. I think that's when it kind of hit me that I was finally watching the Britney Spears. I took over 350 pictures from the night, but sadly 90% of them are blurry and not good enough for me to want to share. I did however put some of my favourites up on my Flickr page, which you should all check out.
I don't think a lot of people were satisfied with the show, I've really read nothing but bad reviews about it- which I think it kind of mostly to do with the fact that she wasn't on stage for 30 minutes and we were all left in the dark, literally. I had an amazing time though, beat the Spice Girls in my opinion. She's definitely is one of the greatest performers in the history of the world- yes, the history of the world. I'd actually love it if they made this show into a concert DVD, I'd watch it over and over until I wore it out.
Oh and I did get my wish. At the very end of the show as she was walking around the stage she said:
"Thank you Vancouver, you guys have a wonderful night! Drive safe, don't smoke weed and rock out with your cocks out. Peace motherfuckers!"
Oh Britney- I love ya.

What! I love these picture. You were so close! OMG JELOUS. I love her and her craziness. Agreed, everything was over exaggerated in the press.
I love your videos! =)
Brenny- I wasn't THAT close. Row 14 lower bowl. They were great seats though. I don't think I would have wanted to be any lower cause then I wouldn't have been able to see the other side of the stage! haha.
Jen- I wish I could take credit for them, but only the 2nd one is mine, the other two I found on youtube. I loved the "peace motherfuckers!" haha.
